Yeah, not exactly sure where to file that one.

So if my computer is asleep, and my iPhone is on my desk, and not plugged into anything, and I plug headphones into the iPhone, my computer wakes up.

I have all kinds of warm fuzzy feelings about what kind of crazy radio signal the phone must be producing, that can trip on a computer it's not physically connected to. Any ideas how that works?

It's likely because you have homesharing enabled in iTunes on that computer and iPhone assuming the iPhone has an active network connection either through WIFI or connected through USB to that computer itself.

When you plug the headphones in it 'wakes' that specific service on the iPhone and across the homesharing network to indicate a device is potentially playing music.
