Don't know if this will pan out, but you never know. Of course, I'm sure if they got this to work, Apple would quash it, much like Sony does with the PSP, with a firmware update containing other goodies to entice owners to update their iPhones.
I still think its only a matter of time before Apple relents to some degree, and offers a SDK where apps can be written and tested by Apple before they can be released.
