Ive been getting about 0.6mbit upload to my friend [over msn, same isp] and to testmy.net. Now, the connection from my ISP he said was about 2 mbits. Also dslreports.com gets about 1.8mbits. I do have a dlink router is this what is causing this? Any other ideas or testing I should do to figure out why I can only send/receive files from my friend @ 40kb/sec.

Not a router issue, there is nothing you can do about it. It's all about your ISP.

The weird thing is, I called my ISP. I was getting about 2.5 mb upload and my friend about 1.8 radio to radio. As where, on MSN and via testmy.net we get about 50kb/sec but I get about 2 megs at that other site.

It all depends on where you're going to.

If you really want to check your speed, hook straight up to your modem, then check the speed.

If you want to check on your router, use a wired connection, and make sure NOTHING is using any of the connection.

I'm telling you though, not much you can do
