I haven't seen a thread like this yet, it's a good opportunity for people to get temp information as well as share cooling tips.

Those drivers show high temps unless you overclock your GPU to over 400Mhz.
It is a bug.

Temps Load: (How would I find this out?)

I ran Unreal Tournament and Doom 3 in windowed mode so that I could see my Nvidia control panel.

You will find the option in the menus for both games.

If you don't mind me asking how do you have this setup as I have a similar rig and would like to cool my cards further.

Thanks.

You guys should try the CardcoolerXT @ theCardcooler.com works awesome for videocards thats what im using.. ;)

I just cut 3 holes in the side of my case in different areas, and put some fan guards on them. Came out real nice.

Damn, our computers are almost the exact same, except the case, and moniter :p Gotta love the FX55, and SLI 6800U's

Chief Tech sever tower with nine fans!

using 66.93
right now:

idle: 40c - ambient 23c
load: 67c - 37c

though that's with a crazy duct hooked up to it. normal temps (and speed i run at) are in my sig.

When I had Asus 6800'GT' 128MB DDR1, the temps @ 390/922MHz were
Core/RAM Idle: 42-46/38-42C
Core/RAM Load: 48-54/44-49C

Card: BFG Geforce 6800GT OC
Cooling system: Dual Blue LED fans revision
Drivers: Nvidia 71.84
Clocks: 370 mhz core/ 1000mhz memory
Temps: 62C gpu/ 43C ambient (With Previous Drivers-66.89 ones I think)
Temps: 76C gpu/ 43C ambient (with Current Drivers)

Card: BFG Geforce 6800GT OC
Cooling system: Dual Blue LOUD LED fans revision >_<
Drivers: previous release
Clocks: stock (370/1000)
Temps IDLE: 59C
Temps LOAD: 78C

Drivers: new release
Temps IDLE: 68C
Temps LOAD: 78C

This is in a Shuttle so I"m more concerned about how fucking loud the two fans are.

BFG 6800 OC - 6th Vertex, 12 Pixel.
DD Maze4 Water Block
450Mhz Core, stock Memory speeds (due to no heatsinks)
Idle, 38 degrees
3D Load, 42 degrees

Water path runs in series after the CPU. So the GPU is really what ever the CPU temp puts out.

Card: BFG Geforce 6800 OC
Cooling system: Arctic Cooling NV5
Drivers: 67.02
Clocks: Stock 350mhz core/ 700mhz memory
Temps IDLE: 48C gpu / 31 ambient
Temps LOAD: 65C gpu / 43 ambient

Not sure if those ambient temps are right, will double check, but off the top of my head that's what I remember.

Card: BFG Geforce 6800GT OC
Cooling : Stock
Drivers: 76.10 Guru3d
Clocks: 370mhz core/ 1.0 Ghz mem Stock
Temp idle: 58C gpu
Temp load: 91C gpu

Should I be worried? 91C when I'm playing Far Cry. I think I might be under powering the card. Riva tuner monitoring says i'm running on the low-power Mhz when I'm at full load. I have a Enermax Noisetaker 420W. No artifacting and I get around 67000 on Aquamark and 5180 on PCMark4.

EDIT: PROBLEM FOUND, One of the two GPU fans on my card is cracked and no longer working. I guess it's time for a NV5!

That's awfully high. Methinks you'd best change the cooling to the NV5 Silencer. The GPU is probably not making contact with the cooler properly.

Card: XFX Geforce 6800GT

Drivers: Forceware 67.66
Clocks: 350mhz core/ 1000mhz memory (stock)

These were taken in the afternoon, in a nice sunny day, at 10 degrees north of the equator.
I'm scared of 71.84 :).

80 idle
100 load

gigabyte 6800gt

Fresh RMA. Old card had same temps. Dont buy, no good.

Drivers: Forceware 71.81

While these temps are well within limits, they are still higher than I would like to see. Does anyone have any ideas stuff I could do to lower them, whithout having to spend much (if any) money? Here my case. I know there was that thing about overclocking the core to over 400 MHz, but I tried that and it didn't make any difference in the temps.

Just checked temps again with Counter Strike Source
eVGA Geforce 6800 Ultra PCIExpress
