Old picture... . Proven bunk.
Technically it would work with a modern PCIe bus though...

Then there's something wrong with your A64 >_>. They're not supposed to idle at 60C.
Where do you live that produces such heat? Did you put the thing in a sealed box?

New router..
E6600 @ 1.3GHz
2GB ram
P5W DHD
250GB Seagate drive
HX520W
Scissors just didn't cut it eh?
I'm sorry, I won't make another bad pun ever again.
That's how most of these things are designed .
Best case ever lol!
Cool Emission. My dad made me a home made one too and honestly it looked almost the exact same as yours. Just a bit cleaner
I think this one-ups djbsccr's solution a tiiiiiiiny bit .
The surface has to be smooth and relatively parabolic in nature for it to be an effective reflecting dish, not to mention the wi-fi unit has to be at the focal point.
Yeah not all the ghetto. You could improve by having used ramen noodle cups lying around with crushed natty light beer cans so that we know you cantenna in style

i'm sure with that thing you can get wifi at the moon
Mine isn't really home-made, it's just 20 years old .
I ended up putting the original carb/tank back, runs like it should again.
Edit: djbsccr, THIS is how it's done, Woktenna style

15" Wok lid - $10
53" Tripod - $12.50
Piece of wood - Fr33.
Linksys USB Wi-fi B/G stick - Fr33.
The tripod to dish mount is made of an old PCI blank bracket with 2 holes drilled into it, and it's reversible. I have a 12ft tripod that I can mount it to if I reverse the bracket. This new tripod can become 3x as tall as the above picture because it has extending feet (didn't take a picture of that), and it can be precisely adjusted like 2938492 ways. Height, pitch, direction, rotation.........you name it, it's getting pointed that way.
