My girlfriend broke her laptop power cable again. Only the tip needs to be replaced and I'm fairly certain I can solder a new one in there. Problem is, I can't find anywhere that'll sell this tip.

Any help? Dimensions:
Inner diameter: 3.0mm
Outer diameter: 6.3mm

Hmmmm. I'm not sure about the tip, but where did it break? Perhaps you could scrape away some of the plastic at the back and resolder wires there?

It broke inside the tip, somewhere in the flexible section. I tried scraping away but just ended up with bloody fingers. The plastic is quite tough.

Her whole family use/abuse it pretty hard. The tip end gets twisted, bent, and yanked a lot. The problem started with power cutting in/out and having to fiddle with the cord. Then it came down to taping the cord at an angle. Now it refuses to power at all. I cut the cord already. There's continuity on the outer core but not on the inner core which leads me to believe somewhere in the tip, the inner core is exposed/broken/shorting.
