Hi guys, looking for some information and directions if possible.
I'm currently in the market for a no-frills notebook for my wife so that I can take back my T61 from her.. Looking for a basic notebook since she only uses it for light ms office work and internet. Found an Acer notebook with AMD 2650e chip in it for $360 at Micro Center. Before I decide to pick this up, I was wondering whether processor upgrade would be possible down the road if needed (Turion X2, I guess? sorry, mostly an intel fan boy.. lol).
I have no problem building desktops, but I've never taken apart laptops. I assume the processor support would mainly be driven by what chipset the board uses. If this notebook has this particular processor - 2650e, would I be able to swap it out with a Turion X2?
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
