i work in a office with around 30 machines. I run the same kind of routines on them all the time - disk defrag etc.

im looking for a USB programmable keyboard but not something that i have to install software with.

i want the keyboard (and mouse if i can get one)to remember keystrokes so i can pug in, run script A,B,C then remove and move to next machine.

so essentially need a hardware programmable keyboard :)

can anyone reccomend one or know any sites that i would find such an item?

Would a USB thumb drive (most are auto-detected) filled with scripts not work for you?

no, as this would require installing whatever application runs the script on the systems im running them on.

Im not looking for an alternative to be honest. Im looking for some kind of keyboard/mouse that does exactly what im after :p

I think you are wishing for something that doesnt exist. You wont get anything more than macros mapped to a G15 g-key (i think they are called), and even then, you might need to install drivers. Learn some perl, bash, VB, whatever, and do things the old fashioned way, via scripts like ndruw mentioned.
