Initially, I started this nsk 1380 back in Dec2007. It wasn't ever really finished, but haven't done anything to it until now..
When I saw the new DFI MI P55-T36, I knew I had to have it.
The idea is to fit as much as possible in as little space as possible.
So this project is once again revived, and eventually, it'll probably move to a new home, most likely a sg06, or the new sg08 that is to come.
Until then, it's this:

Inital components:
Asus P5E-VM HDMI
C2D E6750
4x1GB OCZ PLATINUM REV.2
3xWD5000AAKS 500GB RAID0
XFX7900GS XT 256MB

So it started out from my box-Dec2007

Added TT Maxorb

Then I finally got the nsk1380 on sale =) Modded the psu to fit everything
Upon opening the psu, I found that the heatsink on the 350w psu is live
I found this out the -shocking- way. lol-Jan2008

The stock 350w psu wasn't enough.. So I got Mushkin HP-580AP

Added Accelero S1 Rev.2-July2008

Finally got around to lapping the Maxorb, though temperature only improved by 1-2°C

Then a period of silence.. until I sold the e6750/7900GS/4xWD500GB, before it came apart-Dec2009

You don't realize how small it really is until you take it apart
Here with Steelseries I-2White+SiderwinderX5, from RMA of Double-clicking Habu

Got GTX260 GL+ today =)

Stock HS off, too much ram, not enough sinks =( lol
IMG_1052.jpg

The mounting holes don't match, so requires slight modding..
Also, the G200 die is way big for the s1.. we'll find out how it perform vs stock

As you can see, like other described, the 1156 mount and miP55 don't piece together very well
The bracket is actually on the silicon chip, which causes some concern for the hs installation
Make sure do not over tighten, the chip will get smashed.
I do that@work, and I can tell you it doesn't take much force to crack silicon chips =b
IMG_1081.jpg

With the cpu hs mount, it seems usable despite the uneven bracket

With Asus GTX260 S1 Rev.2

With pump installed. Installing the pump was actually quite easy

With G.Skill 4GBCL7

With everything, powered on: Good!

Idle and load temps - Open setup replaced corsair fan for quieter coolermaster blue led 120mm fan

Looks good but why go for a motherboard that limits your system if the case doesn't require that small a board?

My plan is to evolve into a something like a sg07, but prettier. lol.
Until that happens, it'll stay in this shell, for now.

Update: Been running for about a month, with the occasional bsod which I cannot find an explanation for other than windows7x64 itself, it's running well @ 150bclk.

Next: Add mosfet heatsink + cut openings in the bottom of case for them

Got some new toys, but will continuing running i5. reorganized the case a bit, looks bit better

Moving to itx case, soon, with new fans+ram coming; possibly new gpu cooler+psu too =)

Got some new parts, still on the i5 750. not much to upgrade to atm.
Rid the case, planning to migrate to Fractal Design Define Mini when they are available.
Atm, everything just sitting on my desk, not pretty, but quieter/cooler than in the acer case I had it in previously
