Providing Remote Backup Services for Family.

I want to turn my home server into remote storage for my friends and family. So I can offer them something secure, with effortless file synchronization.

Does anyone currently do this? What experience can you lend?

The best I can come up with is creating a FTP server.

What about an FTP server and something like this. Things could get pretty slow, but it would most likely work!

Hmm, this software appears abandoned but the comments mention SFTPDrive.

In a perfect world I would love to e-mail them a link to a preconfigured app they can install and then point to the folders they want backed up. Something like Windows Live Share (Microsoft Foldershare) but for multiple users who do not share files amongst eachother.
