PS3 controller issue

I'm having a situation where my wireless controller is just running away in XMB- constant up and down cycling with a mind of it's own.

I have to research more, but I confident that it i snot my BT remote- I've pulled the batteries out of it and the issue persists. It's a new issue that has only begun recently. and it seems I can stop it if I get eh BT remote to issue inputs- watching a movie is fine, just XMB with the sixxaxis.

Any ideas? I'm not a regular on the PS boards, and really would prefer not to buy a new controller.

Mine loses it's mind in games once in awhile....problaby should stop throwing it when I get frustrated.....



IIRC, the earlier PS3 models would periodically drop the bluetooth connection, which causes the controller to go all funky.
