so my gateway FHD-2400 hooked up wit a PS3 through hdmi can output blu-ray movies in 1080p wit no problem... regardless of HDCP RITE???

It will work with your monitor at 1080p but HDCP is requirement to get 1080p.

The FHD-2400 supports HDCP and supports 1080p so it won't have any problems. Did you think your monitor didn't support HDCP?
