CPU-Z is reporting my CPU at running at 1.6GHz (6 x 266MHz).

Core Temp and nTune are reporting that is running normal at 2.4GHz (9x 266MHz).

What's the deal?

Speedstep at work.....nothing is broken, it just lowers the multiplier when the CPU is idle....
you can turn it off if you want, but its doing no harm....your CPU will jump right back up to 2.4 when its needed.

Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology... it saves power by lowering the CPU multiplier. When more power is needed, it bumps the multiplier and voltage back up. The delay is miniscule, so, as Crosshairs said, there is no drawback to leaving it turned on.
