question about registering games on STEAM

They sell Bioshock so just like I did with FEAR and HL2 I can register it on there to keep forever? I just bought it and it didn't recognize the serial. The game installed fine so the serial works.
 
Well i'm not sure if this is what you're asking but the way steam works is if you get a game under your steam account "Bob1337" it will ALWAYS be linked to the steam account "Bob1337" so you can be on my computer or your computer and play the game. You just need to install it on whatever computer you play.
 
Bioshock (retail copy) can't be registered on Steam. Only a couple non-Valve-made games (like Prey) can be registered on Steam. Activision doesn't allow it; that's why you can't register Bioshock or COD4 retail copies on Steam.
 
you can "add" it to steam, so you just open steam and launch the game via steam. all it does is tie a shortcut to steam.
