Well, i am not terribly good in math but would like to know aprox. how much time a supercomputer like the new blue would need to fold the entire amount [H] has folded so far.

Thanks

Flo

PS: The power must be insane

It looks like it has 131,072 processors. We currently have around 1400 active processors, so...for this round of F@H, it would have taken about 1/100th the time. Wow...that's fast.

Of course, since it seems we have a lot of crappers folding for us (for comparison, we have a whole lot more WUs than OCAU, but fewer points), it's probably safe to say that 1/100th is a conservative estimate.

We have more than 1400 active processors. That number falls inline with the number of active users we have, and each user often has more than 1 computer. So lets think that each person has about 3 computers. So that would be 4200 processors total. That would be a really conservative number. Someone linked a stat page once that actually listed the number of processors for each team. The only way to go about this is to crawl the personal stat pages at Stanford because # or processors is not reported in the text file that is created every three hours. Stanford doesn't want you crawling the pages, so some could go through the 1400 active users and add everything up. :D

According to the F@H team 33 stats page we had 7848 active cpu's in the last 50 days.

does that help ;)
