Heya all,
Building a new rig and going with the ASUS P5E3 Premium Wi-Fi AP motherboard. I notice the PCIe x1 slot is in the middle of the two PCIe x16 slots. Three questions:
1.) If using one video card (probably at GTX 280)...though I believe that's a dual slot solution, can it go in either of the two slots (without affecting performance negatively either way)?
2.) Since I believe that card is dual slot, will the PCIe x1 slot remain free? I believe if I'm looking at it right I'd have to use the bottom slot, yes?
3.) Can a regular PCIe x1 card (thinking about the X-Fi) go into ANY PCIe slot even though obviously the faster slots are longer than the part it interfaces with, or does it have to go in the PCIe x1 slot specifically?
Thanks!
