Quick n00b question...

do a search....shimmering is kind of a moire effect for some people, ex. a gate in the distance would make a sort of distortion that bothers some people. <--best way I know how to explain it. There are other examples of this and other kinds of shimmering if you search the boards.

It doesn't really bother me, and it rarely happens unless you're looking for it. But it drives some people CRAZY!! :D
 
it kinda looks like what heat does to a asfalt road if you look off in the distance
of if you are out in a hot desert and the sand in the distance starts to look like water because the heat bends the light before it reaches your eyes

with shimmering as you move, the texture, the ground mostly, ahead of you starts to bend or blur kinda

You have to understand, people here are often VERY harcore. If they see something, anything, wrong, they have to fix it. Or complain. Things that wouldn't bother people like you or me piss the hell out of some of these guys. They want perfection. And there's nothing wrong with that. With the money they spent on their computers I say they should have it.

But I would say don't worry about for the most part ;)
