Quick question about sli/xfire and 3 monitors

I would like to build a rig that will divide my desktop between 3 22" monitors using mid to high-end gfx cards. I just wanted to make sure I had everything right.

I'm assuming I can do this with a board that has multiple pci-e x 16 slots using 2 8800 gt 512s.

I don't want sli or xfire, I just want to output to 3 monitors using 2 pci-e x16 cards.

yes you can do it w/ out enabling SLi

only CF can do multiple monitors right now, but you should be able to run 3 monitors np

Yes you can.

But note that with Nvidia cards, you cannot span your desktop on the 3 screens (aka have a single desktop with resolution '3xhoriz X vertical'). You will only be able to span on 2 monitors with the third being independant (dualview).

I would be curious to know if an ATi setup could handle it.
