Quieter HSF for 6970?

My comp would be pretty quiet if it wasnt for the INSANELY (by my standards) fan that comes stock on my MSI 6970 (the normal one not the big alum one)

What is out there for quieter HSF units that work on this card? And where can I find them?

I looked at newegg and didnt see where it specifically said it fits the 6970.

I could just be blind lol.

It says you should get the vr001 ram hs kit, but I cant find that. When I search that part number on the egg some ugly emo kiddy hat comes up.

Unless they changed it recently, newegg's sale page for the AC accelero ext + didn't have the 6970 listed as a compatible card but the manufacturer's site confirms that it will work. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to sell the cooler but not the ram-sinks for the mem and vregs though.. I had to order those from some random place i found on Google. I was going to get them direct from AC but they were sold out at the time.

frozenCPU has the VR001 kit. Also, one seller on [H] has a BNIB Accelero Extreme Plus with the VR001 kit for under 70usd So look for his thread in the FS FT section.

I recommend the Prolimatech MK-13 over the Extreme Plus. I posted here if you want more info.

i'm looking for a aftermarket heatsink/fan that only takes up 2 slots with the 6970

do you have any suggestions?

the artic cooler takes up 3 slots and will block one of my pcie slots
