I got some Swiftech RAM sinks. I also got some Arctic Silver adhesive. The Swiftech sinks come with thermal pads but they dont work very well - anything special I need to do to remove the swiftech pads?

Just make sure you completely clean the existing thermal paste off of the ramsinks and the memory chips. Use rubbing alcohol, 70% or lower. Dilute it. Be careful. Make sure the alcohol is completely dry before applying the thermal adhesive. Also, make sure the alcohol that got on the other bits of the video card is completely dry before turning it back on.

how long should I let the ramsinks dry before reinstalling the card?

It really shouldn't take long, that stuff dries really quickly. Just take a look after about 5 minutes and see if there's any liquid left. By then it should be gone. If not, leave it for another 5 minutes.

Soak the ramsinks in acohol over night... Those thermal pads REALLY like to stick on!

Then pry them off using a razor or a thin metal ruler etc.

What clock are you planning on running? Mine is the xfx extreme stock @ 1500. They have never overheated.
