I already have a Case, Sound Card ect...

I was thinking about gettign a pair of eVGA 8800 GTX cards and run them in SLI but I don't know if I should wait for the next jump in DX10 cards and just use my x1900xt for now.
The 2 x 8800GTX cost more then all the gear I have listed above which is another reason I think I should wait... What do you think?

The X1900XT should do you fine as for right now, depending on what monitor resolution you're running at... New DX10 cards are right around the corner, so you might want to wait about for those. (ATI mid range, Nvidia Mid range, ATI high end, Nvidia 8800 Ultra)

DX 10 is only important if you are running Windows Vista (and even then, it would be Vista Home Premium or Vista Ultimate); otherwise, DX10 is a non-issue.

High-bandwidth/high-video-RAM DX 9 games, OTOH, can benefit from the 8800GTS or GTX today (examples: FarCry, Rise of Legends, Supreme Commander).

GPU/Chipset: I have never been much of a fan of ATI GPUs on motherboards with nVidia chipsets (especially given the CrossFire/SLI snafu), and your mobo has an nForce chipset.
Also, if you plan on keeping this setup for a decent stretch, it's almost *certain* multi-GPU is in your future, so why trap yourself with the wrong starter GPU? For this reason, I recommend an 8800GTS in the 640 MB configuration (future-proofing in terms of SLI and/or DX 10, higher bandwidth for DX 9) despite the availability of the 8600 series (has anyone tested the 8600 in terms of DX 10?).

I wouldn't either buy, or recommend, an 8800 Ultra under any circumstances today. (Name one game that will ship in the next year for the PC that will absolutely *require* an 8800 Ultra (single-card setup) to perform at its best. So far, not even Alan Wake or Crysis are *that* porky.)

I think I will get all this gear and stick with my 1900XT for now.
I'm gonna wait a couple of months and get a Base line pair of DX10 cars in SLI.

Thanks for the input.
