Really very new to OC.. Dropped an h50 on my i7 920 D0 and started fiddling.. Idle I'd get 40-43C or so and 55ish at load at stock speeds..

I wanted to know if this was pretty good for my voltages... I'm running folding@home SMP2 running project 6064 and GPU -bigadv Project 10632.

It's strange because I feel like it is crunching the SMP2 project slower... judging by the TPF numbers @ 4:45 per frame..

I have very little experience overclocking i7 chips, but at that voltage I would think you should be good for at least 3.6Ghz.

I got it to 3.7ghz.. it did not like the 190x bclock.. I'm not sure how QPI scales and how far I can put it up but I have it up to 3333mhz now.

Run on the 21 multi and set the memory to 2:8 the uncore should be 2x the memory speed.

For turning up the GPU fan speed download EVGA Percision and set the speed manually to whatever noise level you're comfortable with.

I'd recommend adding LinX and P95 to your battery of tests.

LinX is great for getting your CPU hot and heavy in a short order of time. Really speeds up the testing process. Grab LinX here: http://www.youwatched.com/datajay/linx(0.64).7z Run it using at least 50% of your ram for short-term tests, Max problem size for multi-hour testing.

P95 takes a little more time to really show symptoms of an unstable OC, But P95 still a valuable long-term test app.

And if you haven't yet, turn of HyperThreading. It only helps to keep your OC low while giving you little to nothing in added gaming performance.

Other things to note: Voltage droop. If your mobo has voltage measuring points and you have a multimeter (steady hands!), use them to find out what the real voltages are, not what CPUZ tells you.

Here's how my 920 topped out. Granted, your H50 is a little smaller cooling solution, so pushing 1.45V may not be viable for you. But you should try to keep temps below 70C and you'll be alright.
