really slow transfer rate on Compaq laptop

I noticed that what takes me 10 mins on my main rig, takes me 30 mins on the laptop

the laptop is in the sig.

i was transfered data off a dvd...something like 6gb, took about 10mins with the main rig, switch over the laptop.. and boom something like 30min..
is the 7200vs5400 that much of a difference

All about hard drives, CPU and RAM. I am guessing your main PC is much faster. Plus the read speed on the DVD to the HDD might be alot slower.

cpu is a dual core,um i think its 1.6 turion core
and ram is at 3gb
