I'm looking for an external laptop HD / enclosure to use with Dell C600 laptops.
I've heard that some drives suck too much power from the usb and don't work properly? I'm not sure if this is true or not. Is 7200rpm too fast, should I stick with 5400rpm or even 4200rpm?
Another department in our company purchased Seagate 100GB drives with a vantec nexstar enclosures and have experienced a lot of trouble.
Does anyone know of some combinations that work well? I'm looking for a 100GB drive. Any suggestions are appreciated. I'm clueless when it comes to this hardware.
