reminder.exe taking up >1GB of memory!

The last couple of times I've started Outlook I've noticed that my memory usage spikes. This last time the reminder.exe was taking up over 1GB of memory! I end the process and all returns to normal, but WTFO?!?! How can that simple program get that bloated?

Any ideas on how to put it on a diet?

I'm pretty sure this was the reminder associated with outlook because when I kill the process that window goes away too... But I'll have to check the next time I boot the system.

have you installed the latest office service pack for your version?
