Remote Monitor/Mouse/Keyboard

Let's say I want to stick my tower in a back room somewhere, and just have the monitor/mouse/keyboard kindof in a kiosk fashion... Anyway to do that? I'm thinking perhaps some sort of IP KVM but not sure. I don't know how like watching a DVD would perform over the network like that.

Edit- Or would getting a long VGA cable, and USB-Over-Ethernet adapters work?
