OK so long story short, my fan on my Leadtek 6800GT died 2 weeks ago (card went above 120 C), and rather then replacing it under warranty, I decided I would take this opportunity to buy a Zalman VF700-Cu cooler to replace it.

One problem, is that I've never done this before and I don't even know if I have the right tools to remove the stock heatsink. Is there any special tools I need, and how should I proceed in removing it? Any guides?

phillips head screw driver, long nose pliers, and maybe the small flathead screwdrivers that are used for glasses repair and such.

i have taken this card apart and its easy as pie just take your time i would say, there is nothing to it mate, all comes apart very easy, one thing i would say is to get the card warm before you take it apart, put it into the pc and run a game untill it warms up a bit this will make the job of takeing the heatsink off easyer ,sorry about spelling
