My roommate managed to break my Sony Cybershot DSC-P72 camera, so I need to buy a new one. I'm just looking for something similar to my prior camera, but current. I use a camera for taking pictures at family gatherings (Christmas, reunions, etc.), miscellaneous pictures, and close-ups of stuff for posting on web sites. Pictures are all transferred to my computer with a USB cable. I do /not/ use a cell phone for taking pictures... my cell phone is strictly a phone.
Should I stick with a Cybershot, or go with a different brand, like a Canon Powershot? I really have no idea what all is out there in cameras, these days. I'd prefer to keep the price of the camera + memory stick to under $300.
