Resolution problems (Geforce 5200 Go and HDTV)
Hardware and software info:
Dell Inspiron 5150 (GeForce 5200 Go)
Samsung HDTV (1360x768 60Hz, using VGA/D-Sub connection)
Windows XP Home SP2
Latest bios and graphic driver from Dell.
Problem description:
Only the following resolutions are accessible (for the external display when the Samsung TV is connected):
800x600
1024x768
1280x1024
Tried to manually enable the resolution using PowerStrip, but this did not work. PowerStrip tells me that the display and/or graphic card does not support the new resolutions (848x480, 1280x720, 1360x768 and so on). I tried to create a monitor driver using PowerStrip, but that didn’t help.
When connected to a Dell 2405FPW the computer is able to display “every” resolution from 800x600 to 1920x1200, Windows even lets me select resolutions above 1920x1200 (not supported by monitor).
Does anyone know of a way to force Windows/graphic driver to display 1360x768 on the HDTV?
