Ripped DVD Collection to PS3

I converted my entire dvd collection using DVD shirk into .vob's. My HTPC played these rip's without issue however the HTPC died and I'm going to use my PS3 to take over the duties. I copied the dvd collection onto an external harddrive to play on the PS3 which works fine (after reformatting to fat 32) but the PS3 will not play the entire movie, I need to continually select the next .vob in the series/chapter.

Whats my best option to convert the dvd's rips to a single file? Do I need to convert to a single file to play the movie continually? I dont mind if I lose the chapter & menu but would like to maintain the quality of the video/audio.

i just googled for merge vob and got this: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VOBMerge
from the looks of it, it seems straightforward and easy to use. give it a shot to see what happens
