I would need to borg 3-4 more C2D computers to reach this I'm producing approximately 2500 ppd currently and probably 3500-3700 during this weekend with the recent addition of a C2D E6300 computer (temporary unfortunately).

Nice PpD & place but .............

I'm slowly ramping as I bring the farm back on-line.
My X2's would not make the deadlines when running the SMP client.
So just picked up 5x Thermalright HR-03 vid card heatsinks & 92mm fans to fit on them.

Temps with stock heatsink on the X1950xtx @ 650 mhz, 1.35v & fan 50% was 70c.
50% was the fastest you could run the fan and not have it sound like a jet engine.

Temps with new heatsink on the X1950xtx @ 660 mhz, 1.4v is 50c.
Cannot here fan at all and I get better airflow around the blades.
Downside is I've had to move the blades 1" further apart as the heatsink sticks up above the vidio card more, plus I've had to rebuild one base plate so the modo does not interfere with the power socket.

I've 2 up and running and I'm halfway through rebuilding the one on the new base plate.
Now to see how long they will run at this speed before they start EUE'ing.

Also just priced up a new Xeon system, only just over £2,500 which should get close to 4k PpD.

I'm a little disappointed in all of you high-rankers, though (except the top three).
A C2D running at 3GHz can put out 1500PPD+, last I checked- most SMP units were 1760pts last month. A C2Q should almost double that, even without overclocking; the slowest one is 2.4GHz at stock, after all.
Last month's contest, I was pushing over 3K PPD. 2.8K of those came from only two rigs, or 4.33GHz of combined C2D power. You guys with Radeons X1900's, that's another 500PPD we should be counting.

A complete C2D rig costs less than $500- 400, if you shop around and catch some deals.
