RPM sensors not working

I recently replaced the fan in one of my power supplies with a Noctua NF-S12-800. I separated the yellow RPM wire from the red and black ones and gave it its own 3-pin housing so I could monitor the speed from my motherboard. It refuses to give me any RPM readings, though. I've done this with all my other fans in the case, Scythe Slipstreams, and it works fine.

Also, my D-Tek dB-1 pump, which only uses a 3-pin connector, won't give me any RPM readings either. The RPM sensor from my DDC3.2 works fine. Anyone know what's going on here?
