"Safely Remove" USB Drives in Vista

Just did a clean installation of Windows Vista... Every previous time I've run it on this machine, 'safely removing' either of my two USB storage devices by left-clicking on the system tray icon has worked just fine. Since this latest installation, it does not. Right-clicking to bring up the menu or right-clicking from Windows Explorer still works just fine though.

Any ideas?
