I just bought a Dell Vostro 1000 and want to replace the screen with a WUXGA panel (like this one from eBay).

My question is, should this process be close enough to this guide for the Vostro 1500 to figure out on my own? I've put together computers but otherwise have limited experience. Also, will that panel work for sure or do I have to get the model off the older screen? I might use this screen. Thank you.

You may want to check the model number of the old panel and cross-reference it, just to be sure the new one will work. I would expect it to though, since the laptop model is specifically listed. I guess it really depends on how much you trust the seller. You might be able to look up the laptop specs to find the part number for the upgraded screen, to ensure you're ordering the right one.
