Cold as ice. There was a deal which expired yesterday for a $90 3TB external through Staples. It's at $100 and still a better deal.
Or you could go for this 2TB external for 5 dollars cheaper than linked deal: http://slickdeals.net/f/5941012-2TB...op-Hard-Drive-STBV2000100-79-99-Free-Shipping
That's great if you want/need an external drive..
For some reason, some people still don't like opening the cases.

BFD. Takes less than 60 seconds to remove from the case, and warranty follows the drive not the case.
I think that depends on the drive inside the external. I cracked one open, checked the warranty on the bare drive and it came up as OEM: contact OEM manufacturer for warranty.
I had the same result when I opened my external 3TB seagate. Effectively means no warranty for me on that drive.
If you want a Toshiba and hate opening cases you can get a 3TB 7200RPM internal for $115, code EMCXSXV37
I have one in my Main for my Steam Games and my games load up much faster than the 2TB Hitachi I had previously.

This is not always true. I've purchased several external drives which I converted to internal over the past few years and, for the majority, the warranty is void if you remove the drive from the case.
