I was looking at the Sempron's at the egg and saw something that just doesn't look right...for the Palermo core and the Multimedia Instructions it only lists SSE2 and 3DNOW! but if I look at the Paris core shows MMX, SSE, SSE2, 3DNOW!, 3DNOW!+

any idea why that is?

beacuse newegg is lazy. palermo is based on 90nm, paris is 130nm. aside from that and stock voltage, there is no real difference between the two
(aside from the fact that palermo normally clocks better)
