setting up ecommerce for first time

a friend and i are trying to setup an ecommerce site for a real estate school. I know to start off we will be taking paypal/credit card payments only.we want the students to have a choice of paying for the entire school,deposit,book 1,book 2,and book 3, and class date to choice. what im confused about is how can i generate a receipt with the paypal confirmation id,total amt paid,class date so they can print out and bring along with them when they come to the classroom and i would like a copy emailed to us or even better a hidden admin feature that shows this information on the site.
i know paypal gives you a receipt,but its not a custom one.i would apprciate any good suggestions or ideas on how to go about this...
 
Read the Paypal site. All the information is there for redirecting information to your site after payment is complete, including passing any variables you would need for a receipt. After that, all the admin section and stuff is in your court.
