Severe vertical banding g2400wd

Is this a normal issue for these monitors? I purchased last august, effect was minimal last fall and became more pronounced I think in the last few months.

If its not normal I want to get warranty service before 1yr.

pic is a little blurry but I used a long exposure time to show the effect. It looks exactly like that when I have a blank screen. Effect is also noticeable for some dark background (Black, blue, red) but not as pronounced.

I've had my G2400WD for about 5 months now, and I've never seen any vertical banding like that.
 
So, I assume what I'm seeing is the position of the backlights?

If anyone has seen this remotely on their screen (the picture is the extreme case of blank screen (Screensaver-->blank-->preview, in windows)

Well that's good and bad.
Nice thing is my screen has 0 dead/stuck pixels!

Anyone have any advice on how to avoid getting a crappy screen on RMA?
