Should i keep my SAS controller if i go from SAS to SSD?

i have a RocketRaid 2640x4 with 3x 36 gb SAS and 1x 73. I'm going SSD soon. i have several boards i may choose form, but all are SATA. I know its all about the controller, and the bandwidth, so, my question:

should i keep my RocketRaid and run the SSD on there or is the improvement not worth it if i won't go back to SAS?

Since it doesn't support 6GB/s then there's no reason to keep it.
