There's nothing I've ever admired more than an unorthodox desk-lamp placement. Good to see there're still some free spirits out there saying "FUCK THE SYSTEM".

Posted this in the workstation thread, just gonna c/p it.

Finally set up everything. Moved back home after graduating! Now time to search for a job in this shit economic state. :(

Will clean up the wires once I feel like it!

erm... why not go with a dlp projector? much better for everything except maybe presentations since lcd's are smaller.

He's probably broke after buying all that hardware.

My post # is a palindrome! :p

lol well it doesn't take money really... my favorite desks are the ones people build themselves... then its built around what they own and it all works out better.

heh, i have definitely been looking for a new desk... my favorites seem to all be L shaped, modern desks... glass and black gloss frames

just haven't found one i like enough to buy yet lol... money isn't a problem as i buy this slowly over time so, it's staggered lol

I think it's time to change your signature.

Why? And please don't say 'cuz it's [h]ard!!!! Seriously, what do you do that requires that much real estate.

...on second thought, that's a whole lotta pornogra......

No offense but those monitors dont fit that desk. Not only in size but because of the size it kind of makes that great looking office space look kind of fugly. Great stuff just wrong setup.

My imediate thought is that surely the smaller monitors on the ends are pretty much useless, as they are too far away & angled completely wrong to see when seated behind the keyboard?

Whoever can afford 2 30" monitors + 2 20" (useless due to angles) monitors can afford a nice desk to put them on. Overkill fail.

Wow...way to just knock the guy down after he posts his setup. Maybe instead of negative comments, you could supply some constructive criticism, instead of just "Whoever can afford 2 30" monitors + 2 20" (useless due to angles) monitors can afford a nice desk to put them on. Overkill fail."

He could just be testing the monitors or just had them laid out before he arranged them into a final position. I use three monitors at work and could easily add a fourth to get more work done, but I do not because we are trying to save money currently.

Honestly, no offence, but you are coming off as a prick somewhat. That would be like saying to someone " Someone who can afford a nice desk can afford to put Big monitors on it."

What if he doesn't need a bigger desk? You could have at least given him some positive advice such as "Hey nice setup but maybe you should eliminate the 2 20"s or maybe get a deeper desk."

LOL wow everybody.. some of you responded worse than my own girlfriend.. even she jokingly said, " you should put another one on the shelf above the two big ones"

anyways.. the new 30 incher replaced the 2 twenties.. they are probably going to be sold off or I will give them to a friend or relative...

I was just playing around with toys last night.. as I am sure some of you tend to do here.. and wanted to post a pic of my goofiness.. sorry to offend those of you who can't look at something ridiculous and laugh as I did

and the desk is built into the house.. it doesn't change or move in any way, shape or form.. thanks for the ideas those who gave me constructive criticism.. but the real setup is the two 30s... I might keep the extras on the side just for fun for a little while.. but how can they seriously be utilized?

If you wanted to use all four monitors, a setup I would try might be the two 30" monitors on top of each other and the two 20" monitors next to the lower 30". It will bring in the outer monitors and it will allow you to utilize two 30" monitors at the same time.

get one of those lcd stand arms and raise the 20's above the 30's. that would look awesome imo.

and push the monitors back a bit too =)

but I love the desk and the people that say they hate it are dumb =P I just cant ever use the pull out thing for the kb and mouse, i move mine around too much haha =)

Wow. You guys are rough. If the guy wants for monitors for whatever reason then let him be. While it does look a bit overcrowded on the desk, it would be awesome to have 4 monitors.
