Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

Nice setup. Where's the cabling? I don't see any wires running to the speakers, nor do I see a video cable going into the display. Is it all in-wall, and if so could you maybe show some pics?

Just bought a new couch recently and rearranged a few things.

Pardon the mess on the desk, it's my default drop point.

Dual 24" Soyos on the bottom, 20.1" Dells on the top(2005FPW on the left, E207WFP on the right).

The Soyos are on my main PCs, the Dells on this. The screen saver is a cliche, but for this setup I had to.

nice!! where'd you get that matrix screensaver?

prolifik or anyone else who might know:

What is the configuration of this galant desk, i.e. what products are used to create this layout? Is it a standard corner desk with two extensions, 1 straight & 1 rounded?

A link to the products used would be really helpful. Many thanks.

It's a samsung T220.
I could get a better picture, in honesty, just didn't want to unsheathe the DSLR when I had a perfectly quick cameraphone. I'll post a better picture if thats prefered.

My upgrade from a 22" Sanyo CRT TV :D

You have your setup in a bathroom  :D

unfortunately for the time being I'm in University supplied student accomidation, so I have to deal with the depressing surroundings and lovely breezeblock walls. I have stuff on the walls, just not there...should be moving into nicer halls in october, thank god.

Let me see if I can get those for you...it's only 3 pieces with the legs.
Ok I think the following links are good...I configured my desk while at Ikea so I don't remember exactly. I hope this gets you started.

Thanks for the reply prolifik, much appreciated - I guess i'll have to check out my local Ikea store :).

How do you find the dark finish, it really looks the part from your photographs but how is it in every day life? Is it a dust magnet or scrape easy?

I'm not prolifik, but have the same desk and color, minus one rounded edge. It can pick up dust and filth fairly easily, but it's really not too bad. Just wipe it off once a week and it's fine.

I do think it scratches easy. Moving an older case on the desk caused a scratch. And a couple other tiny ones that I don't even know where they came from. You really need to see it in person as it's a color that photographs well, IMO. It is a really nice desk though, especially with the adjustable legs and configurable additions.

Got my 2 2209WA monitors in about a week ago. I've been very happy with them so far, and am really tempted to buy another... except I need to save up the monies to buy new computers. What good is more monitors with no computers to drive them :).

Anyhow, unlike many here I opted not to go for the dual 22"s in one setup. My laptop cannot handle it nor do I use my PC enough to devote both screens to it. Nevertheless I have dual screens running on each. Have a look:

Main working desk. It's a simple desk. I looked at the plethora of IKEA offerings but in the end opted for this. Simple, solid wood, and most importantly it disassembles easily for ease of moving. The 4 legs just unbolt off and you're left with a very flat compact package that can be moved in any car. I also have a coffee table and an end table that match- in the same room. Perhaps someday in the near future a 24" iMac will take the place of the laptop.

The PC gets a 2209WA and IMO a neat setup. This computer's primary purpose is for flight sim, hence the arrangement. That's my old Samsung 152T serving as a secondary display now.

This one is an IKEA desk, Mikael computer workstation. It's supposed to look like this, but I think I built it wrong. Who needs directions anyways? Just kidding- actually this was carefully planned and selected because I realized I could use parts from the top that I didn't want to build and turn it into an excellent simming desk. I think I spent like at least 3 hours at IKEA one day looking at solutions for a new simming desk, but it works really well for my purposes. All I did was build the bottom part only and then added some L-brackets in the cubby to support the "shelf", which is the top part of the workstation . It slides in and out for easy access to the SFF PC underneath. No funny lips or overhangs, just nice fat square edges for the yoke and throttle to grip on too (I had problems with that on a previous desk I had). I can fold down the LCD to access the drawer pretty easily.

Again this desk disassembles down to pretty flat parts relatively easily so moving around with it shouldn't be that hard. This was the main gripe I had with the bigger more elaborate IKEA desks, they're a pain to move around and after hauling a huge desk around all throughout college I preferred the simpler approach better. Oh yeah I also bought some cable tubing and attached it to the back of the desk so even though you can't see it in the picture, the cabling is pretty neat in the rear as well.

No it's just a regular LCD, but it would be cool if it was. If I could get one with a decent size at a reasonable price, I would totally try it out. Anyone know where to buy one?
