curious.... are most sli bridges the same size or are they different sizes on each motherboard due to spacing between pci-e slots? maybe an odd question.

There are various forms of the bridges. Flexible ones are used by most non-reference board AFAIK. These vary in length from 5 to 12cm.

The reference design are fixed ones, but I don't know all the lenghts. My 780i mainboard came with two 9cm ones (one for 2x SLI, one for 3x SLI).

So if you want to be on the secure side, look out on ebay for flexible bridges.

As far as I know, all motherboards that support SLI come with the appropriate SLI bridge. So, unless you buy a used board that somebody lost the bridge for, you don't really need to worry about it.

i was asking b/c you can buy open box mobo's w/sli capabilities, but do not include accessories. these are often substantially cheaper. anyway... i have my answer.
