I recently built a SG06 and bought 3 OEM drives.

All 3 had a bad eject button. It seems to me this is some sort of firmware issue. Drives are:

I have a Gigabyte H67N-USB3-B3. I don't know if it is an issue with the bio or something I needed to do to the optical drive physically or what. I can eject using windows right click and paperclip ninjitsu but it would be nice if I could press a button.

Seems to be a pretty wide-spread problem and I have a feeling I'm just going to make my own button.

The Lite-On drive does look suspect, with all those reports.

Sony slot load drives have a problem with screw holes. If you have a problem ejecting, try leaving out the screw that goes in the hole closest to the diagonal cut-away part of the drive.

I think its due to the fact that they are OEM and have some sort of notebook firmware. I dunno, I ended up downloading nircmd (script that does a bunch of random useful things) and created a shortcut to eject.

Thanks though !
