sp2 lag?

anyone notice lag with sp2? ivebeen experinece alot of lag.. anyone know why?
im running soyo dragon k7 mobo
amd athon xp 1800
80 gb wd
40 gb wd
512 ram
gf4ti 4800

I have a spare box at my place with exactly the same specs as your box and it runs SP2 without problems..

Is your operating system virus/spyware/fragmentation free?

Something you may try too is to clean the old prefetch files, google it, it always helps

Nope. SP2 runs fine on my machine. If you are noticing lag I would recommend a reinstall of XP + SP2. It may be a bitch to do, but it fixes alot of problems and should be done once every 6-8months IMO.

no way i've been on this same operating system for a year, nothing is awry. proper maintenance is the key. and does the lag happen when opening an mp3 file per say or just overall?
