Hey folks
Been out of the gaming scene since Battlefield 4 came out. I was just gifted a copy of Star Wars Battlefront and wondering if my specs will measure up. I'm guessing a new video card is needed? I have about $250 budget for upgrades at the mo. Thanks!

My specs:
-i5-2500K
-8Gb GSkill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 CL9D
-MSI GTX 560Ti Twin Frozr II 1GB

The 380x is launching tomorrow, just read the reviews, it should be compared to the 960/970, and should be in your price range.

It won't be anywhere near the speed of the GTX 970. Keep dreaming man!

However it should outperform the GTX 960 by 20%. But I hear it will be priced at $250, which is not good value territory. Better off going with the 380 or GTX 960.

Also, reviewers have been incredibly lazy with this game. After a slew of Beta benchmarks last month, nobody has published jack shit about release performance. Lazy!

I know, I meant to say between those two.

you should be able to get the gtx 970 for around 280 right now with rebate. I just got this one for my niece's computer

AMD products same price I would go for the 390, but I would check your power supply if it can handle it.

Also, Jet.com has 20% off right now (max $50) so you can grab an MSI Gaming 4G and EVGA ACX 2.0 for around $260 using the following code: 20NOW for new customers and 20FORYOU for all!

The only thing you need to upgrade is the video card. Mid level or better should almost max out the game. Make sure it has 2GB of vram or better. Might as well shoot for more vram since games are using more these days, but 2GB will suffice for this game if you have one monitor at 1080p resolution or below.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
Looks like a good deal on the 970 for $260 after coupons at Jet.

That's a great deal. Should perform as well as an AMD R9 390 / 290 and the beta build of the game ran flawless for me.
