DudeItsMe said:Yeah there are TONS of alternatives, it's just really up to you which one you value the least. I've had a few staffs that had interesting--but useless--effects. Giving up Azura's Star is about the worst thing you can do, since it's VERY useful. The staves aren't very useful at all..... maybe for a few minutes.
Blakestr said:There are at least two different weapons they give; one being a sword and the other mace of molag marr...I just give him the one that is not my skill, aka if I am using blade I give him mace...
chiablo said:I turned in the Wabbajack from the Sheogorath shrine. The quest was super easy (and one of the funnest quests in the game,) you only have to be level 2 to get the quest, and the summoning materials are easily obtained.
The artifact itself is funny, but completely useless. It will transform any non-NPC creature into a different random creature. So that rat you use it on can turn into a Troll, or vice versa.

I wonder if you can give the dude umbra then steal it back or kill him for it
Majin said:I don't think so... Stealing back from a statue might be very hard to pull off.

Bullshit.
Umbra, a sword that can recharge your other magical weapons (and is pretty powerful as well), vs a mask that makes people like me better.
Hell with that.
I've not finished the quest, and won't, unless I find out the cheat to get Umbra back. That statue is not worth it.
Gnu314 said:Yeah but if you don't get the helmet then you can't do the final shrine quest so its kinda a tradeoff... I killed umbra before the shrine even gave me the quest so I don't know whats going to happen. Maybe I'll get to kill her again or maybe I'll just give it up and cheat to get it back.
pr0pensity said:Umbra is weak. Swordfighters are pussies. I turned in the sword and sold the mask.

Majin said:I kept Umbra because it's AWESOME!
The soul trap alone makes it worth keeping, not to mention the 18 points of Damage! Clavious can EAD. I made the choice, now I can't complete the final shrine, but I don't care, UMBRA is controling me!
Domingo said:Looks like people are noticing the horrible problem of items scaling per your level, too
For instance items like the Umbra, Blade of Woe, Dark Brotherhood Robes, etc. all get their magical values depending on how strong you are at the time.
There are people with a weak-ass Umbra that does 12-15 points of damage, and there are people with one that does 27-30.
For all of those power gamers out there maxing their stats per level at all 5's - now they're going to have to level up to level 30 before completing any real quests so that all of their items are maxed, too
Oh - of note, if you're keeping Umbra, don't complete that quest. The sword weighs nothing as long as that quest is active. Once you say "no" - it becomes 45 lbs.
sculelos said:Umbra doesn't level, however your blade and strength affect the damage you can do with it, also the darkbrotherhood robes and blade of woe don't level eather.
Domingo said:Why are people reporting and showing screenshots of the DB robes with +15 on all stats while I've only got +11?
Why are there Umbras with 15 attacks, 26 attacks, and 27 attacks?
My Blade of Woe damages at 4, while my GF's is 8
Seems like scaling to me!
Domingo said:It's actually the opposite. She's very much a sneaker/spellcaster while I'm of the Rogue/Warrior mold. I started the Dark Brotherhood at level 2 while she did at level 7.
My current blade is 115 and strength is 88. Hers are both in the 70's.
The sigil stones do it, too...when you get 'em at level 4-5, they're much worse than the ones at level 20-25.
