hey guys......looking for a stable and fairly inexpensive motherboard that will suit an athlon xp 1700-2100.......onboard sound and nic would be a big bonus.....maybe even onboard vid

thanx in advance for all who help

how about the Asus Nforce 1 Board For Newegg for 55$ has onboard sound , lan , an Geforce 2 mx video ... they are pretty stable from what i hear

Asus A7N266-VM is a good board, I built one for my wife. I built my son a rig using Shuttles MN31N nForce2 (IGP & MCP-T) and it was such a great little board that I built a second for folding and as a spare rig for his friends. It has the GF4mx graphics which are much better the the GF2mx of the Asus, it also has LAN. USB2 not 1, Firewire and Soundstorm audio. I paired it with 2 x 256mb of Crucial PC2700 and OC'd the FSB and IGP a bit and it plays BF1942, RTCW, Q3 and the rest with decent frame rates @1024 X 768 res. This is bit more up to date board and should serve you longer than the Asus for not a lot more money.

Regards, Szandor
