Member when steam sales meant 65-75- or even 85% off ? Now they're throwing things like 25-30% in my face. And I just laugh and walk away.
The industry really has adjusted a lot since the relatively earlier days of digital distribution and these sales.
For a companions -
The Witcher 2 Steam Summer Sale 2014 3 years after release - $3.99
The Witcher 3 Steam Summer Sale 2018 3 years after release - $19.99
We are not seeing the same discounts or at the same rate as in the past.
I picked up ME2 for €8 2 months after it's release. And in retail!Mass Effect 2 went down to $5 within a year of its release. Obviously the DLC was always expensive, but during those few years that was fairly normal. A game would hit $5 in around a year. Add all DLC and it would be $7.50, maybe even $5 a year and a half later. Obviously it wasn't sustainable, but those were some good times.
Now it is more like $15 after the first year if the game was popular.
I might pickup Insurgency Sandstorm pre-order, and want to pre-order Ready or Not but that is not up yet. Same with Ace Combat 7: Release Date Unknown.
Rest of the sale is meh to me.
Some cheap suggestions: Just Cause 3 XL Edition & Mad Max at $5 each.

Now popular games won't even get under 20 for years. GTAV is still €20 after over 3 years. Witcher 3 goty also €20.
And Steam is still sticking to it's miserable wretched policy of $1 = €1 further gouging europeans. So it's simply not worth it for me to buy anything on steam, not even during these sales. Steam sale prices nowadays hardly match the prices I can get from sites like cdkeys all year long.
Well, ME2 did come out 8 years ago. This kind of discount doesn't happen anymore. Most retail stores have closed, and the ones that are left are busy with price gouging as well. So I haven't bought anything retail for over 3 years. At least for PC. GTAV was the last game I got retail. Since then only digital. And not because I prefer digital, I'd very much prefer owning some physical memento of the games that I like. But not for a 25-30% premium. You must get cheap retail. Not that many stores still sell many retail PC games here anymore. Half the games bought in stores are cards with CD keys to activate on Steam or Origin. Prices are set by the developers and not Valve, so if you don't like the currency conversion take it up with the devs/publishers. I know some of the smaller studios actually do adjust it but those tend to be cheaper MP games. Good luck getting a AAA game to do that. Though at the end of the day, prices tend to be set relative to local spending power hence why they're so pricey in Australia. I know some less well off European countries are lumped in with Germany's pricing though, lol.
That is the lowest it is going to go. All to games go on sale day 1 and stay that price until the sale is over.so is the $29.99 price for Assassin's Creed: Origins the lowest it's going to get during the current sale or does it have a chance of going lower?...I forget how it works nowadays without the Flash sales etc...do all the games go on Sale immediately on Day 1 or do they continue to add games as the sale goes on?
Rebel Galaxy is meh.I picked up Fate and Rebel Galaxy, not really must haves, but something to add to the backlog.

Has anyone played the PC version of Fable I always wanted to play the game on the X-BOX the art style looks cool not sure of the gameplay.
I watched a few reviews on youtube but still undecided or weather the game just feels dated today. I guess a Fable 4 is rumored to be in the works but it's a big rumor at that.
Man I hate the way this is run. I loved it when the sales changed every day. It was more fun and gave it more of an event thing. Now its just meh.
You're not seeing he e same discounts because Witcher 2 was very divided on how good it was, compared to the first game. Witcher 3 had a much better reception, and there's a more content in it compared to two.
Waiting for the complete edition isn't necessarily cheaper anymore unless you give them time to age and drop in price.
I noticed GTA V is on sale for $20. Is the bundle with the criminal starter pack worth an extra $13? Mainly interested in single player, but wouldn't mind trying out the online play.
Is mgspp and witcher 3 worth it? Also dbz at 35?
You sure have a problem and to not be taken as the normal. I enjoyed both games very much so and proabably put only 200 hours in to both at most. I don't know how some you people able to put this many hours into a single offline game.To me yea. I put 900 hours into MGSV and 850 hours into Witcher 3.

It just how the hell are you still not bored if the game after 800 hour?!?!then [H]Forum member X comes along and says "200 hours! man some of you have no life. i loved both games and only put 50 hours into them."
then [H]Forum member Y comes along...

The vanilla version of the game was $20 on Uplay last week. Worth a glance to see if that's still going on. The normal game is so huge I don't even want to think about DLC.
Mods. Nude mods are available also.It just how the hell are you still not bored if the game after 800 hour?!?!
