I'm stumped.
I just picked up a SteelSeries Stratus XL gamepad in Windows 10, but having a devil of a time. In theory, you are supposed to:
  • Put batteries in
  • install Steelseries Engine in Windows
  • Power on controller
  • Connect to bluetooth
  • May have to power off the device and power it back on.
I can get through connecting to windows (it shows it is connected), but the lights on the controller never show it as connected, and it never actually DOES anything in windows.

I tried plugging the controller in and windows doesn't see it, and the SteelSeries software doesn't offer to check its firmware. The SteelSeries never sees it at all either.

Any thoughts?
I've tried this on two different computers (a laptop and desktop). Same on both. Steelseries is pretty good stuff, I'm kind of surprised if it is broken. Expecting something dumb pebcak.

Did enough digging to answer my own question: It's totally broken, and Steelseries is saying it will be a MONTH before it is fixed.

I'm returning it. What a bust.

Since when do controllers need firmware?

You usually just plug them in and they work?

What is the world coming to?!
