You need to get a router and an adapter that supports either 802.11g and/or 802.11n. Both specs offer much higher bandwidth and faster speeds than the 802.11b adapter that you're currently using.
D-Link, Linksys/Cisco, Netgear, and Belkin make adapters/routers in the above speeds, but you're better off asking someone in the Networking & Security forum.
